Shyvana - Visual Update

Champion visual update for League Of LegendsShyvana is one of this games oldest characters and her model is (currently) suffering from old age. Here I tried to bring her back to life as the bad-ass half dragon half woman fighter she was meant to be!

Aitvaras - The Angry Cheff

Champion Concept for League Of LegendsA myth from the Blatic folklore, Aitvaras is a home spirit that is responsible for the cooked food under the roof. Though originally a demon that comes in many shapes, I decided to imagine him in one of his most common forms - a yellow cheeked local snake that would gather ingredients and cook full meals as consumables for his team. He would fit right in with the rich lore of Runeterra which houses many characters inspired by many different cultures.

Tyra - The Mountains Spirit

A spirit from the mountains that broke free and now protects the people living in the mountains and enjoying life as she does

Skin Concept - Faerie Court Gwen

A League of Legends skin conceptA winter season inspired fairy from the League of Legends skin line of Faerie Court. Gwen

Erin - The Child of Wonder

A really positive teen with the background that some would see as quite tragic, yet that does not keep her down.

Skin Concept - Star Forger Ornn

A League of Legends skin conceptSkin Concept for League Of LegendsAnother perfectly fitting addition for the Cosmic skinline of League of Legends. Ornn would fit the role of the star forger as base Ornn is based around the concept of forging metal. Here it is assured he keeps his main attributes and is completely recognizable but is re-imagined in a more Godly form.

Shadow Mistress

For this one I went back to my comfort style of doing art with a softer look but hard and bright highlights. Picked up an older sketched and refined it in full.
This is a piece about temptation, a feeling of wanting something knowing it is deadly. The idea of this comes from League of Legends character Evelynn, a demon that feeds her hunger by inflicting pain on the unsuspecting using a shape shifting body to lure victims in.
.
.
.
Struggles;
- Making the background items look like they are actually fully in the background
- The fight between glowing parts and the very bright reflecting highlights.
- The placement of the further back arm
Personal positives;- Taking something very old and adjusting it as well as fixing my older mistakes showed me my progress over the years
- Got better at rendering gold
- Became better at rendering soft, feathery materials

Skin Concept - Death Blossom Kindred

A League of Legends skin conceptA beloved champion in League of Legends - the representation of death itself gets a a whole new look in a underutilized skin line - Death Blossom. Kindred use their beauty to keep their pray unalarmed as they close in to seal their fate.

Skin Concept - God King Jarvan IV

A League of Legends skin conceptA descendant of God King Garen, he still protects the vast kingdom that is Demacia, though after Garens rule, he realized he needs a less strict way of ruling and is more for the people than his own selfish needs. The spirit of the Elk helps him protect the lands against the attacks of the Snake spirit driven God King Sylas.

Skin Concept - Pentakill Lightbringers Viego

A League of Legends skin conceptAfter Viegos crushing defeat against the main band of Pentakill he returns stronger and holier than ever before, by his side - a group of loyal lovers of his emotional music.He seeks to have another show down to prove once and for all that he deserves to be in the spotlight of the gods of metal.

Skin Concept - Pentakill Lightbringers Morgana

A League of Legends skin conceptHer sister left her all by herself in the shadows as she became a well known powerful force in the Pentakill band. Morgana in the dark found much anger and sadness. After a while in despair... she heard something.. a sound of pure heartache and emotion? Out of the darkness she came looking for its source to find - Viego - who had been struck down by the band at the top. Seeking to overtake her sister and show her what it is to be forgotten - she joins forces with the pale stranger in her conquest to become the most glorious female vocalist in this world.

Khey'tzi - The white bringer of chaos

Once upon a time - somewhen time has forgotten - a godly entity created two beings it would call it's children - Khey'tzi and Zcha'Ki. They were made, programed in their brain to be completely loyal, to have no thought of their own - only to serve the gods orders. And so the only thing the twins ever knew was what the god wanted - destruction. Their task was to seek out populated planets for their god to consume and they carried this task out flawlessly for hundreds and thousands of years.One day something had happened to Zcha'Ki, she started having thoughts, feelings and with that - color on her body. It's unknown how but she had broken off the grip of the god. Furious, the god sent out Khey'tzi to find its twin and put her back to service or if nothing worked - kill her.

Skin Concept - Star Nemesis Aurelion Sol

A League of Legends skin conceptOne of the twin stars once born at the beginning of time - Aurelion sol saw the potential became corrupted with power and rather than creating - started to destroy. His twin brother created a team of the first star guardians in hopes to stop him in his conquest.

Inner Flame

Some of my first attempts a non landscape, texture heavy, color focused art pieces. With these purples and blues I was trying to give it an ethereal, spiritual feeling using Shen from League of Legends as his character is quite involved in the spirit realms.
.
.
.
Struggles;
- Making the whole piece tilted at an angle, placing things in this way was somewhat hard to make look appealing.
- Struggled with showing characters armor from the side and making it fit in with the colors of the piece
- Drawing the sword dipped in water just never seemed right in the outcomes.
Positives I took away from this;- Learned to make plain backgrounds more interesting, filled with eye catching textures and shapes
- A lot learned about colors and how to give them shape with texture
- A very interesting piece to work on overall, was fun pushing myself out of my comfort zone

Ice and Fire

With this particular piece I am trying to further play around with very saturated and eye catching colors and trying to understand how to make them work for and not against each other.
I am also trying to achieve more detail within my art, this is why I chose a very complex monster design from Monster Hunter Wilds, a Leviathan capable of both playing around with both extreme colds and heat. This piece also teaches me more on how to place longer monsters like him in a limited space
.
.
.
Struggles;
- Finding the correct balance of texture and smoothness to get the look I was trying to achieve.
- Trying to tackle a lot of repeating patterns and make them look interesting.
- Placing a very long monster in a pleasing to look at way, finding ways to place the limbs in correct positions and make it make sense.
Positives I took away from this;- I really loved working with bright "in your face" colors
- Drawing monsters has always been fun for me and this was no different
- Feel like I improved at using texture better in my art
- Really adore the composition in the end
- I took my time with this one and it feels like it paid off

The Black Flame

Here I tried to push myself further on the exploration of shapes and making sure the "Nu Udra" squid like monster is contained within the triangle shape. I also made sure to explore the ideas for this piece more on paper and trying out different colors, getting myself familiar with it's shapes such as the head.
.
.
.
Struggles;
- Felt like I still haven't set myself up early enough with a clear plan in mind so the background and colors on the monster itself got changed multiple times.
- Capturing the wrinkles of the monsters tentacles - decided to take a more artistic approach in the end to make them more stylized.
- It took me multiple days of work to finish, though it did not prove to be a problem but I figured I'd finish it a lot earlier than I did.
Positives I took away from this;- Happy that I got better at documenting my process by showing steps and really thinking about the decisions made.
- Happy with the composition that I decided on, I feel like the monster really shines in it.
- Even though the texture proved to be difficult to capture on the monster, I am really glad I went with the stylized approach as it made it more interesting in the end.
- I believe I did a good job at containing the monster with it's many limbs in a simplistic triangle shape and edges made sharp for a pleasing look.
